Description
Edam cheese is one of the most famous Dutch cheeses traditionally produced in a ball shape but is also available in an easier to handle loaf. It is named after the small Dutch town of “Edam” where it was first produced. Young edam cheese is mild with a somewhat spicier taste than mild gouda. As edam ages its taste becomes more pronounced. Edam is a traditional breakfast cheese in Holland and it tastes great in sandwiches or simply as a snack.
